How do you connect WhatsApp to Autodesk?

Connect your WhatsApp and your Autodesk account in 1SiteLog, then map each WhatsApp group to a project. New messages and supported files are saved to the project's Files, or a group can create Autodesk Issues, with replies added as comments.

What it does in Autodesk

A daily log in project Files

Each group's messages are saved as a PDF in the project's Files, once a day by default or every hour or six hours if you prefer, with photos and supported files next to it.

Site messages become Issues

Map a group to Issues and a message becomes an Autodesk Issue with its photo. Replies to that message are added as comments.

One group, several projects

A group can feed more than one project. Admins decide which group goes where.

Voice notes as text

Turn on transcription to save a written version of each voice note. It uses credits you buy separately.

Set up WhatsApp for Autodesk

A few minutes, done once by one person. Everyone else keeps using WhatsApp as usual.

  1. Sign in to 1SiteLog

Open 1SiteLog and sign in with your email.

  2. Connect Autodesk and WhatsApp

Approve access to your Autodesk projects, then link WhatsApp from Linked devices on your phone.

  3. Map groups to projects

Pick a WhatsApp group, choose the project and whether it feeds Files or Issues.

  4. Keep working in WhatsApp

The crew changes nothing. New messages and files flow into the project.

What it does not do

Better to know now than after you set it up. Need something else? Tell us.

  • Old chats are not imported. The record starts when you connect a group.
  • Only groups you map are saved. Direct chats are not sent to Autodesk.
  • Changes made in Autodesk are not sent back to WhatsApp.
  • Check transcribed voice notes against the recording for anything important.

Questions

Something else? Ask us.

Does my site crew need a new app?

No. They keep using their WhatsApp groups. One person connects the accounts and maps the groups.

What is the difference between Files and Issues?

Files keeps the full conversation record and media with the project. Issues is for site problems that need an owner and follow-up. You choose per group.

Which Autodesk product is it for?

Autodesk Forma projects, using Autodesk's own sign-in. Files and Issues are where the WhatsApp updates land.

Is this part of my WhatSync account?

No. 1SiteLog is its own app with its own sign-in and billing, made by Appstronauts, the team behind WhatSync. Want your AI agent to read and answer your WhatsApp too? That is WhatSync.

Does it import my old WhatsApp chats?

No. It starts with new messages after you connect. Nothing from before is copied across.

Is it made by Autodesk?

No. 1SiteLog is made by Appstronauts. It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk, WhatsApp or Meta.
