WhatsApp for Meta Muse
Muse works through tasks for you on its own computer. With WhatSync, those tasks can use what people told you on WhatsApp.
How do you connect WhatsApp to Meta Muse?
Muse builds custom connectors when you ask in chat. Ask it to create one for WhatSync and give it the server URL. Sign in when it asks, or paste a WhatSync API key into Muse's secure credentials prompt. Then link your WhatsApp from the dashboard.
- Works in
- Muse, through a custom connector it builds for you
- You need
- A Muse account. WhatsApp on your phone, or a WhatsApp Business API number. For the API key route, a WhatSync plan that includes the API.
- WhatSync server
- Hosted for you. Nothing to run yourself.
What Meta Muse can do with your WhatsApp
Tasks that start on WhatsApp
Someone asks for a quote in a chat. Muse finds the message and puts the quote together.
Busy groups, summed up
Ask Muse what a group decided this week, without reading every message.
Lists from chats
Collect every lead, order or RSVP from a group into a sheet.
Add WhatSync to Meta Muse
Muse builds the connection itself when you ask. You give it the WhatSync address and one way to sign in.
Ask Muse for a custom connector
Start a chat with Muse and send this. Muse guides you through the rest.
Create a custom connector for WhatSync. It is a remote MCP server (streamable HTTP) at https://whatsync.app/api/mcp. Use OAuth sign-in if you can. If not, ask me for an API key.Sign in
If Muse opens a WhatSync sign-in page, sign in with Google or your email and allow access. If it asks for a key, create one on the Developers page of your dashboard and paste it into Muse's secure credentials prompt, never into the chat. API keys come with plans that include the API; see pricing.
Link your WhatsApp
Open your WhatSync dashboard and link your personal WhatsApp from Linked devices on your phone, or connect the WhatsApp Business API. If you ask your agent something first, it replies with a sign-in link that works for 15 minutes.
Choose what it can see
On the What's saved page, enable message saving, pick the groups to include and keep any person out. Groups stay off until you tick them. Your agent sees messages saved from the moment you turn saving on, not your whole WhatsApp history.
Things to ask Meta Muse
Copy one, change the names, and try it.
Use WhatSync. Who is waiting on a WhatsApp reply from me today?
Read what Ana asked for in our WhatsApp chat and draft the quote she wants.
Collect every order from the Orders group this week into a sheet.
Good to know
You choose which chats are saved, and you can unlink WhatsApp from your phone at any time. How we handle your data.
- Meta's help page says you ask Muse to create custom connectors and that it keeps the credentials in its Secure Credentials Store. It doesn't describe MCP sign-in in detail, and we haven't tested WhatSync inside Muse yet. If the sign-in doesn't stick, use an API key.
- By default Muse asks before important actions. Keep that on in Muse's settings so it checks with you before sending a message.
- An API key works until you delete it, so treat it like a password. Delete it on the Developers page if you stop using Muse.
- Sends are real WhatsApp messages. Set the send tool to ask you every time in your AI app's settings. Telling the agent "ask me first" in a chat is not the same thing.
- Messaging many customers? Use the Business API, and only message people who agreed to hear from you. Bulk messages from a personal number can get it restricted by WhatsApp.
- Search looks at message text, file names and captions. It does not read inside documents or images, or transcribe voice notes.
- Groups only work on a personal WhatsApp linked from your phone. The Business API covers customer chats, templates and campaigns.
- "Waiting on you" means the last message in a chat came from the other person. It's a hint to check, not a to-do list.
Personal WhatsApp or the Business API
Meta Muse can tell which one you have and uses the right tools for it.
Your personal WhatsApp
- Link the WhatsApp you already use, like WhatsApp Web
- Chats, groups, files, polls and reactions
- For normal one-to-one use, not bulk sending
WhatsApp Business API
- Templates and campaigns your agent can send
- Meta reviews templates and charges per message
- Only for customers who opted in
