What each one is

Zoko is a WhatsApp commerce platform for Shopify brands. It syncs the Shopify catalog into WhatsApp, sends cart reminders with payment links, runs order and COD confirmation flows, and has a team inbox and broadcasts segmented by Shopify data.

WATI is a general WhatsApp Business API platform with a team inbox, broadcasts, chatbots, an AI agent and many integrations, Shopify among them.

Pricing

Zoko's plans were reported in September 2026 at $49.99 for Starter, $79.99 for Plus, $139.99 for Elite and $499.99 for Max a month. Older reviews show lower prices, so check the live page. Starter is reported to add $0.015 per conversation on top of Meta, while Plus and Elite include a set volume without markup. AI agents and custom flows are reported as paid add-ons.

WATI's Growth plan is reported at $59 a month billed yearly or $69 monthly, with a markup on each message.

Meta's charges come on top

Both platforms use the official WhatsApp Business Platform, so you pay Meta for each delivered template message on top of the software fee. The rate depends on the message category and the recipient's country. Meta's October 1, 2026 pricing update also made replies inside the 24-hour customer service window billable; check how each platform passes that through before comparing totals.

The number to compare is not the plan price. It is the plan price plus your expected message volume times each platform's per-message rate, including any markup it adds over Meta.

Which one to pick

Choose Zoko if most of your WhatsApp volume is order updates, cart recovery and shoppers asking about products, and your store runs on Shopify.

Choose WATI if you also run support, sales or lead follow-up that has nothing to do with Shopify, or you want one platform for several teams.

If you only need cart recovery for a small Shopify store, a lighter app may be enough. See Dondy vs Zoko.

Where WhatSync fits

WhatSync is not a broadcast or campaign tool, so it does not replace either platform here. It covers two jobs these platforms leave to you: keeping every WhatsApp conversation on the right Attio record, and letting an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT read your chats and send approved messages through the WhatsApp MCP server.
