What each one is
WATI is one of the best known WhatsApp Business API platforms. It started in Hong Kong and India and now sells worldwide with a team inbox, broadcasts, a no-code chatbot builder, an AI agent and integrations with Shopify, HubSpot and others.
Interakt is an Indian platform built for small businesses and online stores. It is a Jio Haptik product and says it is a Meta Business Partner. It focuses on catalogs, order notifications, abandoned cart reminders and payments inside WhatsApp, with connections to Shopify, WooCommerce, Zoho, Facebook Leads and Google Sheets.
Pricing: the plan is the small part
Interakt's entry price is lower. Its WhatsApp Starter plan is reported at ₹3,499 per quarter or ₹11,999 a year, and its US page lists Starter at $12 a month and Advanced at $69. WATI's Growth plan is reported at $59 a month billed yearly or $69 monthly, with Pro and Business above it.
The bigger number for most businesses is the per-message rate. Both bill Meta's charge plus their own markup. Third-party reviews put WATI's markup anywhere from about 20% to 80% depending on plan and date, and Interakt's at 25% on Starter and 10% on Advanced. Ask each vendor for its current rate card for your country before you sign.
Features that actually differ
- Commerce: Interakt leans harder into catalogs, cart reminders and in-chat payments for Indian stores.
- Automation and AI: WATI has the broader builder, AI agent and integration list.
- Market: Interakt is built around India. WATI sells across Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and beyond.
- Support model: Both offer onboarding help on paid plans. Check support hours in your time zone.
Meta's charges come on top
Both platforms use the official WhatsApp Business Platform, so you pay Meta for each delivered template message on top of the software fee. The rate depends on the message category and the recipient's country. Meta's October 1, 2026 pricing update also made replies inside the 24-hour customer service window billable; check how each platform passes that through before comparing totals.
The number to compare is not the plan price. It is the plan price plus your expected message volume times each platform's per-message rate, including any markup it adds over Meta.
Which one to pick
Choose Interakt if you are an Indian store or service business, your team is small, and you mainly need broadcasts, order updates and cart reminders at a low monthly cost.
Choose WATI if you have a larger team, sell outside India, or want more automation and an AI agent, and you are willing to pay more per month and per message.
Where WhatSync fits
WhatSync is not a broadcast or campaign tool, so it does not replace either platform here. It covers two jobs these platforms leave to you: keeping every WhatsApp conversation on the right Attio record, and letting an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT read your chats and send approved messages through the WhatsApp MCP server.
