How WhatsApp Business API pricing works
Since July 1, 2025, Meta charges per delivered template message. The price depends on two things: the template's category, and the country code of the number you send it to.
- Marketing templates (offers, announcements, reminders to buy) cost the most.
- Utility templates (order updates, receipts, account alerts) cost less.
- Authentication templates carry one-time passcodes.
- Replies to a customer within 24 hours of their last message do not need a template. Since October 1, 2026, Meta charges for them at the utility rate after the first 1,000 a month for each business number.
Utility and authentication rates drop as your monthly volume in a market grows. The calculator applies those tiers for you.
