WhatsApp QR code generator

Make a QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with you when someone scans it. Download it as PNG or SVG for flyers, menus, business cards, and packaging.

What the code opens

Pick the country, then type the number the way you would dial it locally.

Typed in for them when the chat opens.

Your QR code

Your code appears here.

The link inside the code shows here.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Add your number

Type your WhatsApp number and an optional message, or paste a link you already have.

  2. 2

    Pick colors

Keep the code dark on a light background so every phone camera can read it.

  3. 3

    Download and test

Download the PNG or SVG, then scan it with your own phone before you print.

How a WhatsApp QR code works

The QR code holds a wa.me link. When someone points their phone camera at it, the phone opens that link, and WhatsApp starts a chat with your number. If you added a message, it is already typed in for them.

The code is made in your browser. Your number is not sent to us or to any other service, and the code never expires because it does not go through a redirect.

Tips for printing

  • Use SVG for print. It stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for websites, social posts, and slides.
  • Print it at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide. Bigger if people will scan it from across a room.
  • Keep a quiet border. Leave some empty space around the code. The download already includes it.
  • Say what it does. A short line like "Scan to chat with us on WhatsApp" gets more scans than a code on its own.
  • Keep the message short. A long message makes a denser code that is harder to scan when printed small.

Questions

Something else? Ask us.

Is this WhatsApp QR code generator free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark, and no limit. The code points straight at WhatsApp, so it keeps working forever.

How do I find my own WhatsApp QR code?

WhatsApp has one built in. On iPhone, go to Settings and tap the QR icon next to your name. On Android, tap the three dots, then Settings, then the QR icon. That code adds you as a contact. The one you make here opens a chat and can include a message.

Can I make a QR code for a WhatsApp group?

Yes. Open the group, tap its name, tap Invite via link, and copy the link. Then choose "A link I already have" above and paste it.

Does the QR code work with the WhatsApp Business app?

Yes. It works with personal WhatsApp, the WhatsApp Business app, and numbers on the WhatsApp Business API.

Is this the same QR code I scan to use WhatsApp Web?

No. The WhatsApp Web code links your account to a computer, and it changes every few seconds. The code you make here is for customers to start a chat with you. To use your chats in ChatGPT or Claude, link WhatsApp with WhatSync in the same way you link WhatsApp Web.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Check that the code is dark on a light background, that it is printed big enough, and that there is empty space around it. Very long messages also make the code harder to read.

Use your WhatsApp chats in ChatGPT or Claude

Link your WhatsApp to WhatSync in about a minute. Then ask your AI who is waiting for a reply and draft the answers.
